CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation is hosting free virtual workshops in March as part of its ongoing Building Blocks of Success series for companies interested in participating in the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, building skills and bidding on construction projects. The dates and themes of the workshops are:
• March 16, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Work on site (T&M) • March 17, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Contracts • March 21, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Materials A to Z • March 22, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. : Getting paid • March 24, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Daily documentation
Future topics covered include understanding insurance and bonding requirements, job planning, avoiding pitfalls, the steps needed to be certified as a DBE and more.
