After an AAP-BJP flashpoint on the lack of books provided to students in the society’s schools in Delhi, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) strongly refuted the claims and called them false.

MCD had given the textbook requisition to the Delhi government agency Delhi Bureau of Textbooks (DBTB) at the start of the academic session. DBTB began delivering textbooks in June. An additional request for textbooks had also been accepted by the DBTB and the delay in obtaining the textbooks was at the end of the DBTB.

According to an official statement, it is hoped that the books will be provided shortly and that a small number of schools where the problem has arisen will be duly supplied with textbooks.

RECORD ENROLLMENT AT MCD SCHOOLS

The education department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has claimed that the efficient and scientific methods of teaching students in its schools have resulted in a record number of enrollments in the current academic session.

The total number of students studying at the municipal school exceeded 9,10,000, which is the highest in the past five years.

MCD runs various welfare programs for students studying in its schools, such as free textbooks, free uniforms, and more. which is less than 25% of the required amount.

Before the unification of the three companies in Delhi, SDMC deposited the amount intended for the purchase of uniforms directly into the students’ accounts. But due to the non-release of funds from the Delhi government, North Corporation and East Corporation did not transfer the uniform purchase amount to the students’ bank accounts.

According to the official statement, as soon as the Delhi government provides funds related to the purchase of uniforms, these will be transferred to the students.
