Leverette Weekes Nationally Certified as a Women’s Business Company

DOGGY WEEKSa public relations agency, is pleased to announce that it has been nationally certified as a Women’s Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Leverette Weekes is headed by the CEO Meredith Moore.

“As an agency staffed primarily by Black women, we are thrilled to be recognized by WBENC for the breadth of communications services we offer, as well as our commitment to helping businesses leverage diverse talent,” said Meredith Moore. “We were assisted in the application process,” she added, “by another woman-owned organization, Certified Access. They mentored and guided us on how to take advantage of our new status.

The WBENC certification standard implemented by the Women’s Business Development Center-Midwest is a meticulous process that includes a thorough business review and site inspection to confirm that the entity is at least 51% owned and operated by women. This is important as businesses and government agencies seek to partner with companies that promote diversity, equity and inclusion.

Meredith Moore is the second generation of the Moore family to run the business. In 1973, lawyer Cornell Leverette Moore was frustrated with discrimination in the workplace and lack of opportunities despite having a law degree Howard University.

Joining his wife, Wenda Weekes Moorethe two settled down Minneapolis-St. Paul, where they established a business that drew clients from the Moores’ vast network of professional athletes, executives and entrepreneurs. For much of the 1980s, the company supported the pool of emerging talent through twin towns.

In 2016, the company was revitalized and rebranded as a leadership development and communications agency by Meredith, Moore’s youngest child, after her successful career in communications and DEI at McDonald’s Corporation, 3Mand Comcast.

Leverette Weekes helps executives inside and outside American companies create a positive and lasting impact within their organizations and around the world. The company offers:

  • Ghostwriting, Speechwriting and Executive Communications
  • Public relations and media relations consultant
